Custom services are aimed towards new owners or those with new dogs, or dogs that have extra needs, nervous or rescue dogs.
Meet & Greet Session
Especially suited to puppies, nervous dogs or rescues, where the dog may be unsure around new people. This gives the dog and groomer the chance to start to get to know each other without the stress of a full grooming procedure.
Key Components:
- Acclimatisation: Allows dogs to get used to the sounds and smells of grooming equipment.
- Assessment: The groomer can observe the dog’s behavior, check for mobility issues, and comfort levels with equipment.
- Consultation: Provides an opportunity to discuss grooming goals, coat maintenance, and any specific requirements with the owner.
- Initial Handling: Can include light brushing, touching paws, or a quick “meet and treat” session to make the dog comfortable with being handled.
Benefits:
- Builds Trust: Helps frightened or nervous dogs become comfortable with the grooming process.
- Reduces Stress: Prevents first-time overwhelm, leading to better behaviour during future appointments.
- Tailored Care: Enables the grooming approach to be customised based on the dog’s personality and needs.
Puppy Groom
Key Components
- Initial professional session is recommended once the puppy is fully vaccinated, typically around 12–14 weeks.
- What a Puppy Groom Includes: Unlike full adult grooming, a puppy groom focuses on familiarization. It usually consists of a bath with gentle shampoo, drying, a brush-out, cleaning ears, trimming nails, and a sanitary/face trim.
- Building Trust: The goal is a positive experience, not a perfect haircut. Positive reinforcement will be used to get them used to equipment sounds and handling.
- Frequency: Regular grooming (e.g., every 4-6 weeks) helps the puppy become comfortable and prevents matting, especially for curly or long-haired breeds.

Owner Training
Hands-on training for owners to learn proper techniques and equipment usage for maintaining their dogs coat between professional grooms; ensuring a stress-free experience for their dogs.
Key Components
- Creating a Routine: How to establish a designated, non-playtime area at home to conduct routine checks and brushing.
- Handling Techniques: Learn to be both gentle and firm, safely handling paws and ears.
- Essential Skills: Focus on brushing techniques, suitable brushes for their dogs coat and using grooming tools effectively.
- Managing Anxiety: Train owners to calm nervous dogs, introduce grooming gradually, and use treats as rewards to build trust.
- Safety First: Use appropriate equipment and learn to spot skin conditions, parasites, or other health concerns during the process.
